Background agents in the system tray
Ubra runs background agents from the system tray. When you close the main window, Ubra keeps running in the tray, so long coding-agent sessions such as claude or codex continue working instead of being killed with the window. Reopen Ubra from the tray to check on them.

What happens when I close the window?
Closing the window does not have to stop your agents. Ubra's tray behaviour keeps the app alive in the system tray, so running sessions continue. This is useful for long refactors, test runs or migrations you want to leave running while you do something else.
Which platforms support the tray?
Ubra is a cross-platform desktop app for macOS, Linux and Windows, built with Tauri v2. Tray behaviour is part of the app on each platform, subject to how each desktop environment presents tray icons.
How to leave agents running
Leaving agents running in the background is a matter of closing the window.
- Start your agents in their panes.
- Close the Ubra window.
- Find the Ubra icon in the system tray.
- Reopen Ubra from the tray when you want to check in.
Frequently asked questions
Do agents stop when I close Ubra?
Not when Ubra is kept in the tray. Quit the app fully to stop all sessions.
Is there a headless mode?
The docs cover the headless daemon and CLI; see the Docs section for current details.
